Where do we stand today? This FREM on GREEN conference shines a light on the sustainability in the Built Environment in relation to FREM.

The building sector is one of the most resource consuming sectors worldwide, accounting for approximately half of all extracted materials, half of total energy consumption, one third of water consumption and one third of waste generation. Set sustainability goals within this framework of a circular economy, determine an illuminated approach to life cycle assessment.

The main objective of this conference is to promote a more efficient use of resources. To help bringing resource efficiency gains, designers, manufacturers, contractors, authorities and users need useable and reliable information enabling them to make knowledgeable decisions. Read more.

When and if FM and RE are fully integrated in an organization, business benefits may arise. It is essentially beneficial for the corporate client of which the services is rendered to, but also for the professional service providers. Integration or structured cooperation opens a new regime of innovative ways of working and consolidates different best practices of an FM and RE working relationship.

With this growing professionalism over the years within the different business structures, FM and RE carry extensive responsibilities for providing, maintaining and developing a great number of services. These range from property strategy, space management and communications infrastructure to building maintenance, administration and contract management. At this point in time organizations and FM and RE practitioners both see that an integration of FM and RE in different areas is something to consider as the next step building the future. The collaboration of FM and RE demonstrates a new and modernized way of executing services that serve as a support-mechanism for organizations. Read here the press release!
